Very happy with this Thai restaurant! This was the closest restaurant to where we were standing in the Halloween Parade so we decided to go for it and it went great. The interior seems to have undergone a renovation according to old photos and I was impressed with the quality wooden tables and booths and the whole bar display, quite nice!
We ordered Tom Yum, Kra-tong Thong Crispy Cups for appetizers and they were delicious and fresh. Happy to see oyster mushroom in the soup and the crispy cups had a beautiful presentation. For entrees were ordered Drunken Noodles and Deluxe Pad Thai, both were perfectly executed and presented. Flavors and textures were just right and although I have had even though I have had even more delicious pad thai elsewhere, theirs is just as exciting and satisfying.
I have nothing bad to say, they aced everything on my list; great and attentive service, fresh, authentic, delicious food, prices are reasonable, comfortable, cozy, clean atmosphere, everything timely and no signs of panic or chaos despite having been flooded by customers at once right after the parade. They even passed out candy to each table this evening which was a great touch to our Halloween night out. Well done 5 Thai! -

Atmosphere:
This restaurant is higher end and could be casual or a fancier dinner date. The lighting is unique, dimmed and the decor is modern. It was very pretty and cozy! The bar area is beautifully designed.
Food:
Food was delicious. It was flavorful and arranged beautifully. They didn't ask for a spice level, but I'm sure you could ask them to make it spicy. Items are listed as GF and Vegetarian (no fish or oyster sauce).
We ordered Veg Volcano tofu (listed at two stars) and Veg Pad Thai with soy nuggets. Both were very yummy. Veggies were fresh and crispy. Full of flavor.
Staff:
Super friendly staff. Our waiter was very attentive. The food came out quickly. They are knowledgeable about what's in the food and seem willing to make any adjustments based on your needs.
Price is around average for a Thai restaurant. Around $5-7 for apps and $10-15 for entrees. -

5 thai is an absolute game changer for thai food. One of the most scenic city resteraunts you can find. While it may not be on the water, the brick and cement building layout of downtown Portsmouth is absolutely gorgeous.
Now on to the food. Me and my partner like to go as a couple as a fancy sit down. She loves to get the Crab Rangoon, which is filled with flavor. Fried golden brown with a cream cheese and veggie mix inside, the app is a perfect mix of a warm crunch with a smooth and cool whipped texture, all while tasting homemade and fresh everytime. For meals I often get the Spicy Crispy Duck (otherwise known as Chili Duck) and it's absolutely delightful. Peppers, yellow onion, potatoes, carrots, and basil leaves all steamed and served on a pillowy bed of perfectly pan fried duck with an absolutely delicious sweet spicy chili sauce to cover it all. Served with (sadly instant/microwaved) rice, a great nutritional meal for when eating out. The drunken noodle is splendid as well with the same steam veggie mix all the while adding a golden brown fried tofu.
Servers are excellent, and dedicated to your experience. While not overly talkative, they're very hospitable and will take care of your needs often without you saying a word.
Overall, and fantastic date night or family meal. Cannot be beat for thai food within the surrounding area of Portsmouth. -

We had the green curry with chicken and shrimp and it was fantastic! The service was polite and efficient. Mango sticky rice for dessert is a must!

Good came out very fast and tastes authentic! The price is also quite good if you go in for their lunch specials which ends at 3 pm. Inside is cozy and ambience is okay nothing too fancy but I would definitely come back for the good authentic taste.
